February 20 - Set 1826We have three black & white and five colour sets on offer this month.

You can order by sending an s.a.e. to the address below or an e-mail to Alistair Douglas at adouglas1@adouglas1.plus.com. Orders received by email can be processed but, unfortunately, payment by post is still required.

6” x 4” prints from any of these sets cost 50p each for orders of 1-19, 48p for 20-49 or 45p for 50 or more, plus, irrespective of size of order, £1.30 towards p&p.

Cheques, &c., should be crossed and made payable to “PSV Circle”. The closing date for receipt of orders is 28th February 2020. Requests for lists and order forms must be made in good time to ensure that they can be returned in time. Prints are normally despatched within 3 weeks of the closing date.

John Walker took these photos of Walsall and West Bromwich buses. Nos.19,20,57 are rebodied, 23 is a driver trainer, 56 is preserved and 82 is a Welfare Services bus. Most have been offered before.

Thomas Knowles supplied these photos of Hull buses and trolleybuses. Nos.9,16-20/7/8,33/4/8,86/7/9 are preserved (86/7 as driver trainer), 26 is promoting road safety and 94-6 are driver trainers. Nos.57,83 were photographed after sale to J Sykes for scrap (57 is partially dismantled). No.46 shows 165 in original livery and 168 in the later livery of white with blue bands; nos.48,53-7,64/5/9,71/2/4/6/7/9,80/2/3 are also in the later livery.

Thomas Knowles supplied these photos of Western SMT (Western Scottish) vehicles. Nos.1-3 are preserved, 43 is on hire to Ribble, 63 has accident damage and 65 has engine removed. Nos.2,95 carry broadside ads, 74/5 have a livery with cream between the upper and lower deck windows and 111/2/4/5 are in Scottish livery.

Bill McGregor took these photos of Ulsterbus coaches. Nos.24/5 still carry Northen Irish Railway livery and fleet nos. but with Ulsterbus lettering. Nos.39 (683 only),87-90/4-7,112 are in Scottish Citylink livery, 98,102/3/7/8/11 National Express and 71-3 Eurolines. Nos.42,82-4,99-101/4-6/9/10 are all-white, 82-4 with Belfast Express lettering and 113/4 are in a new Ulsterbus Express livery. No.70 carries Ulsterbus Tours Northwest name and 78 is on hire to National Express.

Liveries of Kelvin and Strathtay vehicles are indicated by code in column 5: M=Midland (tow wagons red), K1=initial Kelvin livery (Y=yellow front), K2=later Kelvin livery, C=Scottish Citylink, S=Strathtay, H=Highland red/grey and L=Scottish (London service) blue. No.46 is an overall ad as is Tayside 45 in no.77. The other two buses in no.77, 182 in 80 and 78/9,85 are still in Dundee green. No.54, Kelvin ML309 and L301 ad Strathtay ML310 are tow wagons and Dundee/Tayside T1/3 are driver trainers. 138 in no.73 has engine removed and no.52 also shows Alexander (Northern) NPE52 RRS52R.

Campbell Sayers took these photos of Highland Country, Rapson and Gaelicbus vehicles. Nos.15,43-5,57/9,60,71/6,88 and 601 in 74/5 are in Scottish Citylink livery, 4 is also in this livery but with Highland Country fleetames and 46 is in "as acquired" livery with Scottish Citylink lettering. Nos.5,6 are still in full Jetlink livery, 21,81 are Gaelicbus and 48,69 are yellow/blue. Nos.2,3,13 are in the Highland Bus & Coach red livery and 22/5/6/8,30/2/3/5/8/9 and 308 in no.34 are the blue livery adopted after ownership of Highland Country reverted to Rapson.

Nos.11-4/8 are overall ads, 20,47/9,55/6,70/4/7 are white National coaches, 1,15,43/4,69,73,82-4/8/9 are in NBC local coach livery and 8,9,16,21/2/9,32/5,40-2/6,51/7-66,71/2/5/6/8-81 are also in NBC livery. Some of these were included in set JCW29.

Nos.40-2/4 are rebodied 54 has engine removed and, in no.49, JDH271 is alongside 881HDH.

Nos.75,81 are on hire to Western Scottish and 79 to Eastern Scottish.

Nos.4,8 (K981 only), 19,24,27 (L814 only),29,47/9,62,83/6/7,90/1 are still in previous operators' liveries (Newton had repainted EAG981D to match JSC882E).

These photos of West Coast Motors vehicles, taken by Alistair Douglas, have been selected from Section 2 of our archive. Nos. 6,7 are an Optare demo on loan and 60/4,81 are open top. Nos.4,5,24-6/8,30/1/3-6,42/4/5/7/8,50 are in Scottish Citylink livery, 58,78 are also in this livery but with name removed, 10/3,15 (C791USG only), 16,22 are still in Stagecoach livery and 8,11/8,27 are all-white. In no.2 M519RSB is parked alongside Oban & District L263/4AAG and in no.81 GYE273W is with P487MBY. No.18 is a view of the depot with R24GNW in the entrance.
